On May 4th, you are invited to join a special post-conference event. Meet fellow young hydrologists, discuss current hot hydrologic issues with experts and present your own vision! Drinks, dinner and famous hydrologists are included. The event is organised in cooperation with the Young Hydrologic Society (


6 P.M. – 7 P.M.    Informal get together, meet fellow hydrologists & network

Walk-in and relax after an intensive day at the conference. Meet and network with  fellow hydrology students during this informal event. Don’t worry if you have a poster ending at 18.30! The official program starts at 19:00 and throughout the night there will be plenty of networking opportunity.

7 P.M.  – 7:45 P.M.     Meet the Expert:

This time the MTE session will be about Hot topics of hydrology: How can hydrology serve society and other disciplines in an uncertain future. First, the speakers will give 15-min visionary talks, followed by open discussions between the speakers and the audience.

7:45 P.M. –  8:45 P.M.     Food & Group discussions

During the group discussions the audience will break up into smaller groups. You will continue discussing the topic addressed by the experts developing your own vision! This will be accompanied with great food, to prevent you all from fainting.

8:45 P.M. –  9:15 P.M.    Group presentations

All groups summarize and pitch their vision during 5-min presentations, followed by a brief final plenary discussion. All groups will be awarded points for their vision and the discussion of others’.

9:15 P.M.   –  9:30 P.M.    Wrap-up & closure

Award ceremony, including prize the best vision, with information on how to get involved in AGU, CGU, EGU and the Young Hydrologic Society.

9:30 P.M. – 10 P.M.    Informal discussion & further networking

10 P.M. –  The night will continue with the Hydro Pub Crawl…
